Joseph Vassallo - Actor | Writer | Producer | Entrepreneur

Joseph Vassallo has carved out a dynamic, globe-spanning career rooted in passion, resilience, and reinvention. At just 13 years old, a visit to his father on the set of Midnight Express ignited a lifelong love affair with acting. That spark led him to the historic Teatro Manoel, launching an extraordinary journey across continents and creative disciplines.

Joseph’s life reads like a script of adventure—a world traveler - living and working in Switzerland, Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles, and serving as Chef de Rang aboard the luxurious QE2. Fluent in English, Italian, and Maltese, and conversant in Swiss German and Spanish, he brings a rich, worldly perspective to every role and project he touches.

After training at the Stella Adler Academy and the Joanne Baron / D.W. Brown Studio—and earning mentorship at The Actors Studio West under Shelley Winters, in Los Angeles—Joseph took the stage by storm. Splitting time between New York and Los Angeles, he appeared in over a dozen theatrical productions. His breakout on-screen moment came with a Royal Caribbean commercial, kicking off a prolific run of over 100 national TV spots in the United States—including the iconic Twix campaign, which won the Gold Award at the New York Film Festival, and a six-year brand run with Romano Macaroni Grill.

From comedy to drama, Joseph has shared the screen with legends—Golden Globe Winner - Damon Wayans (Blankman, Behind the Smile), Rodney Dangerfield (The 4th Tenor), Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy (Just Married), and Academy Award winner - Forest Whitaker (Our Family Wedding). TV audiences have seen him shine in The West Wing, Alias, Diagnosis Murder, My Wife and Kids, and as Enzo Ferrari in a long-running role at Ferrari Land in Barcelona.

Off-screen, Joseph’s creative drive has been just as dynamic. In the early ’90s, he began as Executive Personal Assistant to a Hollywood A-Lister before pivoting into writing and production, ultimately serving as Vice President of Way Out TV alongside Damon Wayans. His credits include staff writing on ABC’s My Wife and Kids, based at the Disney Studios lot, under legendary show runner, Don Reo, as well as producing, writing, and directing a range of original projects. A graduate of film school in Los Angeles and a forward-thinking technology entrepreneur, Joseph also held the role of COO at AKABE5, curating game and utility apps. In addition, he has spent several years working closely on tour with the legendary Luis Miguel, contributing his expertise behind the scenes to one of the most iconic performers of all time.

Most recently, Joseph can be seen as Antonio Russo in Netflix’s acclaimed mini-series From Scratch, opposite Academy Award winner Zoe Saldaña, and as Saro Vitelli in The Offer on Paramount+, opposite Miles Teller.

As an artist, visionary, and storyteller, Joseph Vassallo continues to push creative boundaries—developing a bold new slate of film and television projects of his own, with the same passion that first lit his path.
